How do the assessments vary?
The content and items in each category differ. The summary description of each survey gives the categories of questions used. The instruments themselves list questions randomly and only in the feedback reports are they grouped by category.
How were they developed?
With more than 17 years' experience in developing surveys, we have an extensive data base of questions. Many of our survey instruments were developed for use with training programs offered by The Learning Key®.
How have they been validated?
Our surveys are intended as analytical tools for gathering feedback, not as psychometric or rigorous data-gathering instruments. They have shown a high level of face validity with the thousands of individuals who have used them.
We do not report data in terms of "national" or other group norms. However, for many organizations we have created summary feedback roll-up reports. With this collective data an organization can look at all respondents by organization, function, team, or department. These are useful for organizational planning and for individuals to see how they compare with colleagues in their own organization. Over time they can show the impact of training and other development initiatives.
How are they administered?
Administration is through the Internet, although paper and pencil surveys can be provided if required.
How are they scored?
Spreadsheets and graphs summarize results for self, manager, peers, direct reports, customers and/or other groups selected. Only self and manager data are reported separately. No one else is identified in order to protect confidentiality. How are the results provided?
Each report is composed of several sections. Numerical data is given in colored tabular and graphical formats. Written comments are summarized to illustrate strengths and opportunities for development. Upon request, we also create references with suggestions for development. |
